My Theological Worldview

I just took a Theological Worldview test on Quizfarm.
http://quizfarm.com/test.php?q_id=43870

Here are my results…

You scored as Evangelical Holiness/Wesleyan. You are an evangelical in the Wesleyan tradition. You believe that God's grace enables you to choose to believe in him, even though you yourself are totally depraved. The gift of the Holy Spirit gives you assurance of your salvation, and he also enables you to live the life obedience to which God has called us. You are influenced heavily by John Wesley and the Methodists.

Evangelical Holiness/Wesleyan      89%
Emergent/Postmodern      71%
Charismatic/Pentecostal     68%
Reformed Evangelical      68%
Neo orthodox     64%
Fundamentalist      57%
Classical Liberal      43%
Roman Catholic      36%
Modern Liberal      25%

I guess there really isn't anything too surprising here.  It is kind of interesting how, although I scored highest in 'Evangelical Holiness/Wesleyan, I was almost equal on the next three.

This will certainly be some interesting conversation for upcoming posts…

Cari

I have alluded, a couple of times in other posts that I am seeing someone these days. I decided tonight that it is kind of funny that have not written anything about her, since she is such a large part of my life these days (I probably just didn’t want to embarrass her)

Well anyway, she is a wonderful girlfriend and I look forward to seeing where our relationship goes.

I won’t get too mushy—but I have to publicly say Thank you, Cari, for putting up with me lately—especially since I have been kind of down in the dumps lately.

Pathetic

Pathetic

So, in light of my resolution (be more physically active) I bought a pedometer to see really how lazy I am.  Ok, they say that, minimum, you should take 10 000 steps per day.  Well, on weekends, I am not too bad—I have hit that and usually come close (8,000 to 9,000).  However, on weekdays (note that I am a cubicle dweller), I manage to squeak in about 3,000 to 4,000.  Ouch!

Resolutions

Well, the New Year has come and we are well into 2006.  Our trip home to Wisconsin was a good time to be with family.  It wasn’t as snowy and wintry as I would have liked it (and as I always remember winters in northern Wisconsin) and clouds kept me from gazing up at the night sky in awe at the stars that city living has taken from me.

But it was still a good time.  I was able to introduce Cari to my family, my favorite restaurant, fried turkey and most of all-fresh from the factory cheese curds.  I think she enjoyed the trip.

And now it is 2006 and life has seemed to return basically to normal.  The weather has been rainy and cloudy—kind of a metaphor for how I have felt lately—sort of  bored with my life—not an enjoyable sunny day nor a storm that is filled with excitement.

Finally, today the sun came out (after three weeks) today.  It was a reminder to me that rain and clouds are not permanent and that there is a sunny day where things will start to come together and I will again.

I have been hoping for a sunny day but not really taking any steps to get there.  So that is my resolution for this year—that I hope to do something, anything, instead of waiting around for things to happen.  I have started with some little things—I am going to be more physically active (I am tired of feeling like crap because I am overweight) and I am going to free up myself from many of my obligations with my church so that I have  more time to invest in people.

Happy New Year.
